According to Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, if there is an appropriate expert opinion in connection with Mikheil Saakashvili’s state of health, the court must make a worthy decision.

According to Zurabishvili, this court will decide two issues, including confirming that it is independent.

“As for the health of the former president, I have repeatedly said that this is a very important issue that I pay great attention to every day, because I think that this is a very important issue for the country’s reputation and our dignity. Thus, my administration regularly meets with the council, sometimes with Empathy, sometimes with another council. And today such a meeting is scheduled. I think that the most correct way, and I have spoken about this more than once both abroad and at closed meetings, if health is damaged at this level (and I don’t know this, I don’t have this information to this day, and I’m not an expert, in order to make such a conclusion, the conclusion must be made by others, those who are obliged), that there will be such a conclusion, it must be submitted to the court and the court must make a worthy decision. This will solve the problem in two ways, firstly the health problem if his health is damaged at that level, which I hope is not the case. It will also decide the second question, by doing this the court will guarantee that it is independent, which will be no less important for the country. I would like the court to prove this to us, if there is a conclusion that requires it. It is probably the duty of lawyers to bring it to court,” said Salome Zurabishvili.
