Two Georgian citizens posing as Orthodox Jewish women were detained at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. This is reported by the Israeli media.
The incident took place on the evening of November 18, after the onset of Shabbat. [священная Суббота в иудаизме]. According to media reports, Georgian women are dressed as Orthodox Jews, including headdresses. Israeli border guards were suspicious of the fact that Orthodox Jews [харедим] do not fly after Shabbat, as this is a violation of their religious charter.
Both Georgian citizens were sent back to Georgia. As the Israeli media write, Georgian citizens often try to get to Israel for further illegal employment.
