Georgia is an important country for the security of the Black Sea. All countries must be a part of this security to be sure that the movement of all ships and economic activities will be carried out correctly, Anne Genet, head of the French delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, said after meeting with the Georgian parliamentary delegation in Madrid.
“I am deeply convinced that the port of Anaklia should be built. This is very important for Georgia and the Black Sea region as a whole. Today we are talking about the process of Georgia’s accession to NATO. Why Georgia? Because Georgia is a country of the Black Sea region, located in the east of the sea, and is our strategic partner. Given the current situation, the security of the Black Sea is very important, because the security of the Black Sea means the security of the European continent. We are discussing how we can protect our national territories. We also talked about holding joint exercises and deepening our strategic cooperation,” said the head of the French delegation.
