German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has publicly called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to withdraw troops from Ukraine and end the war, UNIAN reports citing Spiegel.
“Stop this war, withdraw your troops and clear the way for peace talks that Russia cannot dictate to Ukraine,” Scholz told the SPD state party conference in Baden-Württemberg.
In addition, the chancellor stressed that “no one is allowed to appropriate someone else’s territory.” Due to the aggressive policy, Russia found itself isolated at the G20 summit.
