The European Commission has clarified the change in the text of the address of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. As the deputy official press speaker of the European Commission Dana Spinant noted, Ursula von der Leyen’s initial appeal contained inaccuracies in the numbers.

In particular, in the data cited by von der Leyen on the losses of Ukraine, killed and wounded Ukrainian soldiers were implied.

“Thanks to those who pointed out the inaccuracy in the numbers in the previous version of the video. The estimate used from outside sources was for both the dead and the wounded and was supposed to show the brutality of Russia, ”wrote Dana Spinant.

We remind you that today Ursula von der Leyen said in a widespread appeal that Ukraine lost 100,000 soldiers and 20,000 civilians in the war with Russia. In particular, data on the losses of civilians and military personnel were removed from the corrected text, and an updated version of the video message was posted on Ursula von der Leyen’s official Twitter page.
