Shalva Papuashvili met with the Chairman of the Bundestag Committee on EU Affairs

Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili met with Chairman of the German Bundestag Committee on EU Affairs Anton Hofreiter.

According to the press service of the Georgian parliament, the meeting noted the special role of Germany in the process of Georgia’s European integration.

Shalva Papuashvili briefed Anton Hofreiter on the progress and current reforms in Georgia in the framework of the implementation of the EU recommendations.

The Chairman of the European Union Affairs Committee noted that Germany welcomes the EU enlargement policy, and Georgia should count on Germany’s support in this direction.

Shalva Papuashvili expressed gratitude to the German side for supporting the territorial integrity of Georgia. He highlighted the fact that Germany is the biggest contributor to the EU monitoring mission.

The parliamentary delegation of Georgia, led by Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, is holding bilateral meetings with high-ranking political officials in Berlin as part of the visit.
