The Anti-Corruption Bureau will carry out financial monitoring of political parties, electoral subjects and persons with declared electoral goals. Appropriate changes have been made to the draft law providing for the establishment of an Anti-Corruption Bureau in Georgia.
According to the current legislation, the above body belongs to the State Audit Service. According to the changes, civil servants will have to submit property declarations to the Anti-Corruption Bureau, and not to the Civil Service Bureau, as they did before.
Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Parliament Anri Okhanashvili explains that the expansion of the functions of the Anti-Corruption Bureau fully complies with the 12-point recommendation of the European Commission, as well as the opinions and proposals expressed by NGOs on this issue.
