More than half a million citizens of Georgia overdue loan payments

Over the past four years, the number of citizens who have overdue loan payments by more than a month has increased by almost 80,000. This is evidenced by the statistics of the National Bank of Georgia.

In October 2019, the number of such citizens was 495,620. In October 2022, there were 574,715 of them.

The statistics include debtors of banks, microfinance organizations, leasing companies and other organizations.

At the same time, in 2019, citizens who overdue payments had only 851,332 loans, in 2022 – 1,100,566. The volume of loans also almost doubled – from 2.5 billion lari to 4.4 billion lari.
