The lower house of the Czech Parliament adopted a resolution in which it called the current regime in Russia “terrorist”. The text of the document is published on the website of the Parliament.

Voting took place on November 15th. The resolution condemns Russia’s attack on Ukraine, in particular attacks on energy infrastructure, and does not recognize the results of the referenda, on the basis of which the Russian authorities annexed part of Ukrainian territory.

The deputies supported the initiative to create a special international tribunal to prosecute crimes during the war and investigate the International Criminal Court.

129 deputies out of 200 voted for the resolution. 14 voted against. 57 did not vote.

The Czech Republic is one of several EU countries that buys Russian energy resources after the embargo was imposed on them by the EU. The restrictions do not apply to oil supplied to the country through the Druzhba pipeline.
