“Working in the technology industry in Georgia has become more expensive than it was last year,” said Lineate Regional Director Giorgi Tsikolia.

According to him, the demand for information technology specialists has increased significantly against the backdrop of the Russian-Ukrainian war, but the supply in the Georgian market turned out to be insufficient, which led to changes – in particular, wages in the IT sector increased.

“This year was decisive in the development of this industry in Georgia. Of course, it is very sad what is happening now in Ukraine, but this has led to the fact that international companies that worked in Ukraine, and in Belarus, and in Russia, were forced to transfer their business to Georgia. As a result, the demand grew, and the supply of specialists in the Georgian market turned out to be insufficient. As a result, wages in the sector have risen and working in technology has become more expensive than last year. But at the same time, it has stimulated other industries, including the education industry, to invest more in training technology professionals,” he said.

Lineate is a software development company with offices in 4 countries, including Georgia.

The Lineate Georgia office was opened this year and currently employs 80 people.
