According to the head of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (NCERG) David Narmania, tariffs for electricity and natural gas remain unchanged.

As Narmania said at a press conference at the Mtavari media center, the regulatory commission will set new natural gas tariffs in December, as the current tariffs expire in December, but no increase is expected.

“In December, the regulatory commission will set new tariffs for natural gas, as the current tariffs expire at the end of December, but given the current exchange rate, we do not expect an increase in this part,” Narmania said.

In addition, he spoke about the importance of observing safety when using natural gas.

“Tbilisi Energy, SOCAR Georgia and other companies are checking consumers. It is important that all installations and systems are checked for the winter season, and if certain consumers smell any smell or think that something is wrong with the gas, they should definitely call the “hot line” of the relevant distribution company and call the teams. There are frequent cases when a company disconnects an incorrectly connected or unsuitable device from the network, but, unfortunately, users connect it arbitrarily. Unauthorized connection is strictly not allowed and is prohibited by the current technical regulations, first of all, both for the sake of our own safety and health, and the safety of the people around us,” Narmaniya said.
