The IMF mission on Friday has begun online discussions with Ukraine officials regarding the new lending program. This is stated by IMF’s Permanent Representative in Ukraine Vahram Stepanyan.

According to Stepanyan, the new negotiations will be a continuation of the consultations held in Vienna in October.

“The IMF mission headed by Gavin Gray is starting discussions with representatives of Ukraine today in the context of continuing the discussion of the government’s request regarding the Monitoring Program with the involvement of the IMF Executive Board. The dialogue will build on the outcome of meetings held last month in Vienna, Austria. The mission will be working online,” Stepanyan said.

As reported, on October 17-20, a group of IMF officials met in Vienna with a delegation of Ukrainian officials. The discussions covered the latest macro-financial developments and prospects, the 2023 budget, and the related external financing needs of Ukraine, the problems of the financial sector and the combination of various government solutions to support macroeconomic stability.
