We express our support for Georgia and the Georgian people who want integration with the European Union, MEP Sven Mixer said at a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, where a report on Georgia’s implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU is being discussed.
The rapporteur on the issue of Georgia, Sven Mikser, said that the process of negotiations in connection with the report between the parties in the European Parliament was difficult, but the parties were able to reach a compromise.
“It was a difficult negotiation process. I want to thank all the parties included in it. Finally, we were able to come to a compromise. We express our support for Georgia and the Georgian people who want integration with the European Union. In the European Parliament, we also discussed what the Georgian government should do. We had fair criticism of the Georgian authorities,” he said.
