In Kharkiv Oblast, man buried flags in garden to save them from invaders
In one of the villages of Izium District, Kharkiv Oblast, a man has hidden two Ukrainian flags so that the Russian occupiers would not get them.
Around the beginning of April, he buried the flags in the garden and after the liberation of the village, he asked the Ukrainian defenders to dig up the glass jar.

Quote: “We can compare this with the Soviet regime. Caches with blue-yellow or red-black flags, which were hidden by local residents and rebels in the 1940s from the Bolsheviks, have been found in Rivne Oblast and Halychyna (Galicia) even in our time,” the 103rd Brigade said.

Quote from fighters: “One more time we proved that in the East of Ukraine there are many patriots who, even risking their lives, protect what Ukraine is for them. This is very inspiring and we understand that here, 1,500 kilometres from home, we are fighting for our people, for the Ukrainians.”
The military immediately gave away one of the flags, and kept the other to be signed.
“The soldiers of the unit will return the flag to its owner with their signatures as a symbol of the Ukrainians’ insubordination. And very soon, national flags will fly on all the liberated Ukrainian lands!” the military added.
