In the center of Jerusalem, on King David Street, a memorial plaque was erected indicating the location of the Georgian monastery of the 5th century and the burial place of the Georgian bishop Samuel. The information is disseminated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

As noted in the information, this is the first memorial plaque in Jerusalem about the Georgian cultural heritage, as well as the first one made in the Georgian language.

“The installation of this memorial plaque became possible thanks to the joint efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, as well as the International Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the Georgian Embassy in Israel and the relevant departments of Israel,” the report says.
