Quote: “We discussed with Moldovan President Maia Sandu the current energy and security challenges for our countries. I told about the Russian aerial terror, which has also affected Moldova recently. We exchanged views of the fall of the missile on its territory,” he said.

Note: on the morning of 31 October, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that fragments of a downed missile fell on the territory of Moldova, just one kilometre away from the dam in the village of Naslavcha.

Later, the Ministry clarified that it did not record a violation of Moldovan airspace by any missiles, since only fragments of a missile shot down by Ukrainian air defences fell on the territory of Moldova. At the same time, according to border guards, the local dam was not damaged and there was no threat of flooding the area.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and European integration of Moldova reaffirmed its strong condemnation of missile strikes on Kyiv and other cities, and also announced the expulsion of one Russian diplomat after the incident.

Russia criticised Moldova’s reaction and promised to answer and expel his diplomat from Chisinau.
