Garibashvili met with USAID Deputy Administrator for European and Eurasian Affairs

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with US Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Administrator for European and Eurasian Affairs Erin Makii.

According to the press service of the Prime Minister of Georgia, at the meeting attention was focused on the unwavering US support for Georgia in all major areas. It was emphasized that this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the United States, and over the past 30 years, the United States, through various programs, has made a great contribution to strengthening Georgia’s democratic institutions, economic growth, and supporting Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations. The meeting emphasized that Georgia is and will remain the closest and most reliable partner of the United States in the region, and Georgia is ready to further strengthen this strong partnership.

U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Kelly Degnan, USAID Mission Director John Pennell, USAID Assistant Deputy Administrator Alex Sokolovsky, Special Assistant to the Deputy Administrator Philip Jotevski, Deputy Head of the Political and Economic Department of the U.S. Embassy in Georgia Aaron Rupert took part in the meeting in the government administration. From the Georgian side, the meeting was attended by the head of the government administration, Revaz Javelidze.
