“The Peaceful Neighborhood Initiative does not contradict or replace any other format of cooperation, on the contrary, it will help, and I believe that together we will do many important things,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a joint press conference for the media after a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

“Today we had a very important meeting. We talked about many issues related to strong partnership and cooperation between our countries. We also considered the difficult situation in the world, current processes.

Naturally, we touched on the situation in the region and everyone agrees that what is happening in Ukraine should be regulated through negotiations.

I would also like to say that in the face of rapidly changing and complex challenges in the region and the world, great importance is attached to peace and stability, which are key factors for the well-being of our region and our peoples as a whole.

We also touched on the current situation in the region, the recent agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the start of a peaceful negotiation process. This, of course, gives us great hope.

I would like to reiterate that Georgia, I and our government declare our full readiness to continue and support the peace policy that we started together. I also want to note that the aforementioned peaceful neighborhood initiative does not contradict or replace any other format of cooperation, on the contrary, it will help, and I believe that together we will do many important things,” Garibashvili said.
