Hearings of People’s Defender Candidates to Start in Parliament from Tomorrow

Hearings of candidates for Public Defenders will begin in Parliament from tomorrow. The meetings will be held in the committee for the protection of human rights and civil integration. This was discussed today at a meeting of the Bureau of Parliament.

“The parliament received 19 applications for the position of Public Defender. They will be submitted for consideration to the committee for the protection of human rights and civil integration. Interviews with candidates will begin tomorrow,” said Gia Volsky, a member of the parliamentary majority.

In addition, as MP Mikhail Sarjveladze, a member of the parliamentary majority, stated at the bureau meeting, the committee for the protection of human rights and civil integration will hear all 19 candidates for the post of Public Defender before Saturday.
