The head of the provisional administration of the former South Ossetia Autonomous Okrug (on the territory controlled by Tbilisi), Dmitry Sanakoev, who has held this post since 2006, resigned on October 11.

As Sanakoev said in a conversation with Netgazeti, he made the decision to leave the post himself.

“I have been in this position for 16 years. This time is more than enough. I think I will continue my work in another area.”

According to him, he does not know who will replace him as head of the Administration.
