In 2022, stowaways in Tbilisi paid fines of almost 1 million lari

For seven months of 2022, fined stowaways transferred more than 927.6 thousand lari to the Tbilisi budget, BPN reports.

The amount paid for fines in January-July 2021 was almost six times less – 166 thousand lari. At the same time, public transport in Georgia did not work throughout January and the first week of February last year due to the coronavirus.

The fine for ticketless travel on buses, minibuses or the Tbilisi metro is 20 GEL. Those who “get caught” for the second time are fined 40 GEL.

The cost of one trip is 1 GEL. Unlimited subscriptions are also available for residents of Tbilisi and tourists: 1 day – 3 GEL; week – 20 GEL; month – 40 GEL; three months – 100 GEL; six months – 150 lari, a year – 250 lari.
