“We acquainted Mikheil Saakashvili with the diagnoses, and he decided not to disclose them,” said Shalva Khachapuridze, a lawyer for former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.

As Shalva Khachapuridze mentioned, they are going to apply to the court so that the diagnoses are not made public.

According to him, the diagnoses are included in the list, which, according to the order of the Minister of Health, provides for exemption from serving a sentence.

According to him, Mikheil Saakashvili’s lawyers never asked to transfer the ex-president abroad.

“We are talking about the fact that there should be a temporary suspension of the sentence, and then he will go abroad, what he will do is up to the doctors. The politicians are making this statement about transferring abroad. How should a lawyer talk about this? This is not written in the legislation of Georgia. Whatever is written in the law, the same is repeated by the Minister of Justice and most of the politicians whom I have been criticizing for 30 years. This is a question that should be decided by a judge, not by the Minister of Justice,” Khachapuridze said.
