“We always take the advice of our strategic partners and friends responsibly. Our position is that since our draft law was developed on the basis of the Ukrainian model and Ukraine sent the law to the Venice Commission, as soon as there is a conclusion, we will seriously consider this conclusion in the parliament,” said Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Archil Talakvadze.
According to him, there are no problems with sending the bill.
“We have explained the timeframe within which these commitments must be met, and the process we have provided will ensure that Georgia implements the recommendations and conditions in a timely manner. We will not allow the opposition to speculate on the fact that something was not done on time and that the authorities have been waiting for something for months. Therefore, since this project is similar to the Ukrainian one, and Ukraine is waiting for the conclusion of the Venice Commission, as soon as there is this conclusion, we will seriously consider this conclusion,” Talakvadze said.
