“It is important to increase support for the alliance both for Ukraine and for the most vulnerable NATO partners in the region, such as Moldova, Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Bucharest.

“At the meeting, we underlined Romania’s firm and concrete support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine. We also stressed the importance of increasing NATO support for both Ukraine and NATO’s most vulnerable partners in the region, such as Moldova, Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. An additional challenge is the strengthening of strategic stability in the Black Sea region, which contains key aspects, including energy security and freedom of maritime communication,” said Klaus Iohannis.

The meeting between Klaus Johannis and Jens Stoltenberg took place the day before the NATO Foreign Ministerial. Within the framework of the ministerial, a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia is also planned.
