China reports record number of new COVID-19 cases per day

Another daily record of COVID-19 infection was recorded in China. According to media reports, over the past day, 40,052 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the country.
For the fifth day in the country, a growing daily infection rate has been recorded. Over the past day, the number of new cases was 39,506.
Most cases of infection were recorded in Guangzhou and Chongqing.
China has a so-called anti-COVID-19 zero policy, which imposes severe restrictions.
Citizens are protesting against covid restrictions, anti-restriction demonstrations are taking place in several major Chinese cities. Protesters demand the resignation of Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
