According to Deputy Interior Minister Alexander Darakhvelidze, the Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to make significant changes to the methodology for using the risk assessment tool and significantly revise the methodology for using electronic bracelets so that more women feel safe and the mechanism works effectively.

Darakhvelidze noted that the ministry’s policy is focused on the interests of the victims, but apparently, these efforts are not enough in some cases.

“Our department is constantly retraining our employees so that every case does not go unnoticed, and every act of violence is responded to effectively. We try to be as victim-centric as possible and use gender-sensitive approaches. We are ready to accept all suggestions, criticism or alternative opinions. Despite progress and maximum mobilization, unfortunately, serious facts are happening that cause justified indignation in our society,” said Alexander Darakhvelidze during his speech at the event dedicated to the 16-day global campaign against violence against women.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs have joined the 16-day global campaign against violence against women. As part of the global campaign, the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched information campaigns under the slogan “No to violence against women!”
