“Georgia and Moldova are united by friendly relations, which are traditionally based on close contacts, common goals and aspirations between peoples,” Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili said at a joint press conference after meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Nicu Popescu .

According to him, for many years Georgia has been actively engaged in dialogue and sharing its experience on issues related to the European Union.

“Together with Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova form a group of like-minded countries known as the Associated Trio. These countries are united by the goal of joining the European Union.

I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate our full support and solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We reaffirmed our support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our countries, and stressed the importance of maintaining a regular dialogue on existing challenges,” the Georgian Foreign Minister said.

According to Darchiashvili, during the discussion of the bilateral agenda, attention was focused on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Moldova, which is celebrated this year.
