Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived today, November 23, in Armenia to attend the CSTO summit. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan personally met the Russian leader.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is a military bloc in Eurasia, similar to NATO, dominated by Russia. The bloc’s goal is to protect the security of its member states.

A summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is taking place in the Armenian capital Yerevan amid protests. Last night, the protesters in Yerevan demanded the country’s withdrawal from the organization.

Despite the fact that Armenia has repeatedly applied to the organization with a request to respond to the Armenian-Azerbaijani armed conflict, according to the Armenian side, the CSTO remains neutral regarding the occupation of Armenian territories. Part of the population of Armenia is dissatisfied with this and demands the country’s withdrawal from the organization.
