UNM has become a force where neither principles nor values matter
When asked whether cooperation with Levan Khabeishvili’s National Movement would be more expedient for him than under the chairmanship of Nika Melia, Giga Bokeria replied that it does not matter, since the atmosphere in the team and the rules of the game are the result of the activities of all the figures of the National Movement, including Melia and Khabeishvili.
As for the question of the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, as Giga Bokeria notes, he does not expect Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili to pardon Saakashvili.
According to Bokeria, he considers Salome Zurabishvili a product of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s regime.
At the same time, according to him, the authorities should be smart enough to prevent a dramatic outcome with Mikheil Saakashvili.
According to him, the National Movement and Mikheil Saakashvili quite naively considered that if the lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze defends the interests of Saakashvili, then he can be released.
“They naively believed that by choosing such an intermediary, Ivanishvili could let Saakashvili go on the condition that he would not interfere in Georgian politics. This is so frivolous that it is a tragic story for the country. Khachapuridze said that Saakashvili is no longer interested in Georgian politics and does not know where the Georgian channels are on the remote control. This discussion has sunk to such a level that for me, as a citizen, it is humiliating,” Giga Bokeria said.
When asked whether David Kezerashvili financed European Georgia, Giga Bokeria does not give a direct answer, but notes that not a single sponsor had the opportunity to dictate the course of his political team.
