Rustavi Azot, where one worker died today and two workers were injured, was fined 50,000 lari. Part of the work at the enterprise has been suspended, the Labor Inspectorate reported.

The agency said in a statement that based on preliminary information, the cause of the incident was determined to be the collapse of homemade scaffolding.

“Violations on the spot is a critical non-compliance, in connection with which the facility was fined, and the right to operate was suspended,” the Inspectorate said in a statement.

The department also noted that a “critical non-compliance” at the enterprise was also identified in July 2022.
