Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Jae Hyun Pak, Executive Director of K-Water, which is the investor company of Nenskra HPP.

According to the press service of the Prime Minister, at the meeting in the government administration the issues of implementation of current and planned energy projects were discussed.

“The importance of investing in sustainable and renewable energy sources was highlighted.

According to Irakli Garibashvili, the Georgian government offers investors a favorable investment climate.

The Prime Minister noted that taking into account the national interests of the country, the participation of the state in the construction of large hydroelectric power plants is very important. According to the head of government, Nenskra HPP is important for the country’s economic progress, energy security and energy independence.

At the meeting, it was noted that it is important to speed up the construction of the HPP and complete the project on time.

Nenskra HPP is one of the largest investment projects involving the construction of a 280 MW hydroelectric power plant in Svaneti. The investment volume of the project is 1 billion 50 million dollars.

The meeting was attended by Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea Im Dong Op, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili and Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Romeo Mikautadze.
