Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada want to appeal to the G20 member countries with a request to exclude Russia from the group.

The draft of the relevant appeal is published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The authors of the bill are a group of deputies, including the chairman of the Ukrainian parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk.

“..given the important role of the Group of 20 in maintaining sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth and development of the world economy for the benefit of all peoples, and also considering that the well-being of the states of the world directly depends on their ability to maintain peace and security…, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine addresses to the states of the Group of 20 with a request to exclude the Russian Federation from this group as a state that does not fall under any of the above criteria,” the explanatory note to the document says.

The bill was published against the backdrop of a summit of heads of state and government of the G20 countries, which is taking place this week in Indonesia.
