Turkey’s interior minister announces detention of suspect in Istanbul explosion

“The suspect who left the bomb on Istiklal Avenue in Istanbul and carried out the explosion has been detained,” Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu said.
According to the minister, preliminary data indicate that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, banned in Turkey, which Ankara considers terrorist, is behind the attack.
According to Suleiman Soylu, Turkey will continue its resolute and legitimate war against terrorism.
According to the latest data, as a result of the terrorist attack in Istanbul, eight people were killed and 81 were injured. 50 victims have already been discharged from hospitals, five are in intensive care.
