Tbilisi City Hall opened Ketevan Tsamebuli Avenue for traffic

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said that Ketevan Tsamebuli Avenue, which had been repaired since January, is fully open to traffic from today.

The avenue connects the sleeping areas of Samgori, Varketili and Isani with the city center.

8.5 million lari (more than $3 million) was spent on the rehabilitation of the avenue from the city budget.

The pavement was replaced on the avenue, new lighting and drain systems were installed, sidewalks were repaired.

Underground and above-ground communication networks have been updated, including water supply, sewerage and electricity and gas supply systems, underground garbage bins have been installed. Pedestrian paths, bus lines have been equipped, landscaping work has been carried out, the mayor’s office reported. The infrastructure of the avenue has been adapted for the movement of people with disabilities.

The mayor published more than 50 photos of the updated avenue on his FB page, inviting citizens to actively comment.
