9,573 individuals and 954 legal entities fined for environmental pollution with waste in Tbilisi

In 2018-2022, fines in the amount of 4,446,623 lari were issued for polluting the environment with waste in the capital.

According to the Tbilisi City Hall in response to a request for public information, from January to October 2022 alone, 1,612 fine protocols were drawn up in Tbilisi, according to which the amount of fines amounted to 1,029,320 GEL.

As for 2018-2021, according to the statistics of the Municipal Inspectorate of the Tbilisi City Hall, a total of 9,573 individuals, 954 legal entities were fined, 10,624 protocols were drawn up, and the amount of fines was 3,417,303 GEL.

More specifically, in 2018-2021, in Tbilisi, 7,659 fines were issued for the disposal of municipal waste to individuals and legal entities, for clogging with construction and inert waste – in the amount of 2,915 protocols; and for environmental pollution with hazardous waste – 50 protocols. The amount of fines in 2018-21 amounted to 3,417,303 GEL.
