In the village of Ergneti, Gori municipality, the 109th meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism was held for six hours. After the meeting, Irakli Antadze, deputy director of the Information and Analytical Department of the State Security Service of Georgia, said that the main issue discussed at the meeting was the release of illegally detained citizens.

According to him, illegal borderization was also the main subject of discussion.

“The main issue that was discussed was the release of our citizens. Consultations on this issue will continue, and the window of opportunity is not closed. We hope that all those illegally detained will be returned to their families. Also, the main issue of discussion was the issue of illegal borderization, which is directly related to such processes as illegal detention and restriction of the free movement of the population. The position of the central government is to prevent this ugly practice and free movement has not been restricted.

They voiced their demands regarding the Georgian police post in Chorchana. We explained once again that this is a standard post, the purpose of which is to ensure security and it has no other task. The central authorities do not restrict free movement and encourage all participants to use similar practices,” said Irakli Antadze.
