Ukraine’s membership in the North Atlantic Alliance is fair, since Ukrainian forces are at the same level as in NATO countries. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with CNN, reports nv.ua.
“We are confident that we have already shown the capabilities of our forces to the whole world. By the level of training, by the stability of our defense system. I think we are at least on the same level as the NATO member countries. And I think it would be fair if we were in the same security circle and in the same security alliance,” the president said.
At the same time, according to him, if the path to NATO takes longer than Ukraine would like, then our country needs security guarantees.
“Because everyone says that the doors to NATO are open, but you need to reach these doors,” the head of state added.
