“The United States is not a member of the EU Parliament, and I cannot say that we participated in the creation of the draft resolution,” said US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan.

As Kelly Degnan noted, the US is concerned about the ongoing depolarization of the political situation in Georgia.

“As it has for the past 30 years, the US will continue to support the clear will of the Georgian people to live in a secure, stable, prosperous democracy, and that is why we so strongly support Georgia’s, the Georgian people’s EU membership and the Euro-Atlantic future. I hope that all the political leaders of Georgia, including the ruling party and the opposition, will now unite and ensure that the work done for candidate status is up to EU standards. The moment has come, and I sincerely hope that the leaders of Georgia will achieve this goal of the Georgian people,” said Kelly Degnan.
