NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced the date of the upcoming summit of the alliance. The member states of the alliance will gather at the level of chapters at the 2023 summit in Vilnius on July 11-12.

“We are now facing the most complex and unpredictable security environment since the Cold War. For allied countries and heads of government, the meeting in Vilnius will be an opportunity to agree on future steps to strengthen our deterrence, defense and consider a sharp increase in defense spending, as well as further support for Ukraine.

In the face of growing strategic competition, in search of a transatlantic link between Europe and North America, NATO remains an important protector of the security of a million citizens. I am grateful to Lithuania for hosting our summit. Lithuania is a key NATO ally. As the location of multinational battlegroups, Lithuania helps us to provide reliable protection and deterrence for the entire alliance. Looking forward to a successful summit in Vilnius in 2023,” Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement released by the alliance.
