The details will be discussed by the party, Melia said, including those who today “made a very hasty statement” and seem to have “far-reaching goals.”
As Nika Melia noted, “nothing new was said” at the briefing of his colleagues. The chairman of the party spoke about the form of the statement of his teammates, and stressed that “in the near future he will present the real reasons and goals for raising this issue in such a hasty form.”
At the same time, according to Melia, the issue of elections was agreed in the party, and the subject of discussion was only the timing and procedural issues, “when and how the elections will be held.”
“If there is anything comfortable for me, it is elections, open, public and with the absolute participation of the majority.
Elections in which tens of thousands of party supporters will take part, where I will have the opportunity to tell the truth to tens of thousands of National Movement supporters so that they can make a meaningful and future-oriented choice for the party and the country.
I want everyone to know that I was, am and will be ready to participate in any elections. Especially in intra-party elections, and even more so when I have accumulated quite a few things that need to be said,” Melia said.
Recall that some members of the “National Movement” demand holding intra-party elections. In particular, one of the leaders of the party, Irakli Nadiradze, and representatives of regional organizations held a briefing today, at which they demanded that the political council and secretariat of the party be re-staffed, and that a new chairman be elected.
