Part of the UNM members demand elections for the chairman of the party and the political council

Some members of the “National Movement” demand intra-party elections. In particular, one of the leaders of the party, Irakli Nadiradze, and representatives of regional organizations demand that the political council and secretariat of the party be re-staffed, and a new chairman be elected.
“We think that the strengthening of the party should be based on the strengthening of intra-party democracy and intra-party elections at all levels. We demand the re-election of the political secretariat, the political council and, most importantly, the election of the chairman. The chairman must have the legitimation of hundreds of thousands of fiery, loyal voters, so that we can fight for the freedom of this country with new energy, with a new plan and with new combat readiness,” Irakli Nadiradze said.
