78% of respondents are against visa-free travel for Russian citizens

According to a study by the International Republican Institute (IRI), 78% of the citizens surveyed do not support the free, visa-free entry of Russian citizens to Georgia, as well as the fact that they can register a business and buy real estate in the country.

According to the study, 14% of respondents support free, visa-free entry of Russian citizens to Georgia, 8% support the registration of business by Russians in Georgia, and 5% support the purchase of real estate in Georgia by Russian citizens.

4% of respondents do not know the answer to the question or refuse to answer.

The International Republican Institute (IRI) survey was conducted in Georgia from September 13 to October 2, 2022 on behalf of the International Republican Institute research center by the Baltic Surveys/The Gallup Organization representative, Dr. Rasa Alishauskiene. Field work carried out by IPM. Data collected through direct interviews. The selection covered 1,500 respondents with the right to vote. The data were weighted according to age, gender, region, and settlement size. The error is +/- 2.5%. The response rate is 74%. The study was made possible by the support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
