3 Georgian citizens detained near the line of occupation of Tskhinvali released

On November 3, the State Security Service of Georgia (SSS) reported that three citizens of Georgia – Vladimir Dzhokhadze, Malkhaz Tielidze and one minor, who were illegally detained by the Russian occupation forces on November 1 in the occupied territory near the village of Mejvriskhevi, have been released and are in the territory controlled by the central the Georgian authorities.

According to the State Security Service, information about the illegal detention was provided to the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions and international partners. A hotline was also activated, operating under the auspices of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia.

“Responsibility for all destructive actions committed in the occupied regions of Georgia and along the line of occupation lies with the occupying force,” the ministry said in a statement.

According to the State Security Service, “the central government (of Georgia), together with international partners, continues to actively work to release all persons in illegal detention, both in the direction of the occupied Tskhinvali region and occupied Abkhazia.”
