
Since March 1, Russian citizens have bought 2,964 apartments and 37.9 hectares of land in Georgia

According to official information, 112,733 Russian citizens who came to Georgia after the start of the war remained in the country.
Back in July, Batumelebi requested data from the Public Register of Georgia on property registered by citizens of the Russian Federation in Georgia from March 1, 2022 to the present. The answer was received only on November 2, after five months of waiting.
According to official data, in the period from March 1 to October 12:
2,585 citizens of the Russian Federation bought 2,964 apartments in Georgia with a total area of 189,084 sq.m.;
252 citizens of the Russian Federation bought 249 land plots with an area of 37.9 hectares. (53 citizens of the Russian Federation purchased a plot without buildings and structures, 199 – with buildings or structures;
The department explained that the data was processed according to the passport data of the Russians.
Data on the registration of citizens of the Russian Federation in the Public Register are as follows:
Legal entity – 711;
Individual entrepreneur (IP) – 9,789;
Those who bought an apartment – 2,585;
Those who bought land – 252;
The area of acquired housing is 189,084 sq.m.;
The area of acquired land is 37.9 hectares.
“Batumelebi” also requested data from the Ministry of Refugees, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia on the employment of foreigners in Georgia. The department noted that from January to August, 1,439 foreigners were employed in Georgia, 977 of them are Russian citizens.
