Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili held an online meeting with EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso. The parties talked about the successful cooperation between Georgia and the EBRD and discussed the prospects for further relations.

The head of government noted that the EBRD is not only a faithful partner of Georgia, but also makes a great contribution to the democratic development of the country. The critical role of the EBRD in overcoming difficulties in the post-pandemic period was noted.

The parties also discussed specific areas of sectoral cooperation, including: energy security and energy independence of the country, electricity generation exclusively from “green” / renewable sources, projects of regional importance to increase connectivity in the Black Sea region, various infrastructure projects, economic and structural projects, reforms , strengthening the role of the private sector, human capital, etc.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has invested more than 4.9 billion euros in 270 projects in Georgia, most of which are in the private sector. Georgia is one of the largest beneficiaries of the EBRD.
