In Istanbul, at the tenth Bosphorus Film Festival, the European premiere of the first full-length film by Georgian director David (Data) Pirtskhalava took place.

The jury decided to award the film “Big Break” with the prize for the best director.

The film was also selected as Georgia’s Oscar nominee and got a chance to represent Georgia in the US.

The screenplay is written by David Pirtskhalava. He turned the play, written in the workshop of Temur Chkheidze, into a movie script.

About the film

13 years after graduation, classmates gather in the classroom. Enclosed space and memories bring to the surface stories of pain and humiliation. A seemingly ordinary meeting of friends turns into a process of rethinking the past, one’s own actions, a thirst for revenge and the possibility / impossibility of forgiveness.
