“Whoever nominates candidates means nothing until we meet with them,” said Gia Volsky, Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.
According to Volsky, candidates for the post of Public Defender will be selected according to three main criteria.
“Whoever nominates candidates will mean nothing until we meet with them and the public is fully informed on what our final decision will be based on. The main requirement is neutrality, professionalism and dedication to the cause of the Public Defender, and not jumping back and forth on political platforms, which was a sad fact for us in the past,” Volsky said.
