Party For Georgia expelled Nino Chikvashvili, a member of the Kutaisi municipal assembly, from its ranks
“Despite the grave tragedy that occurred yesterday in the capital, and in fact the whole country is mourning for the dead child, having rallied around this tragedy, Georgian Dream finds time to unworthily continue the fight against our political party across the country.
“Once again we express our condolences to the family of Marita Meparishvili. We apologize to the public that on this difficult day we have to hold a briefing on this matter, but the dishonesty of the “Dream” has left us no other way. By the decision of the For Georgia Party, Nino Chikvashvili, a member of the Kutaisi Sakrebulo, was expelled from the ranks of the party. Nino Chikvashvili, who became a member of the Kutaisi municipal assembly on the list of our party, has been actively blackmailed over the past few months with financial sanctions against her private schools and various pressure mechanisms. Nino Chikvashvili was put under pressure by the State Security Service, the Revenue Service and local self-government,” Berdia Sichinava said.
According to him, the authorities have received the next proposal for Nino Chikvashvili to leave the party, but remain in the Sakrebulo as an independent deputy.
As Berdia Sichinava notes, in return, Mechta promised her to resolve the issue of financial sanctions, and as a bonus, open channels for additional opportunities.
“For several months, our team has been offering Nino Chikvashvili to speak openly and publicly about the pressure from the Georgian Dream, and our team, of course, would have supported her, as in all other cases. However, in the end, Chikvashvili could not withstand the pressure of Mechta, the State Security Service and the Revenue Service and fully agreed with their demands. Those people who sell their souls to Mechta, take money from them and live, hoping to replace the great idea of developing the state with their own mercantile interests, will not be able to be near us. Society already agrees that today’s “Dream” has fully absorbed those ugly methods of management that have been characteristic of the power of the “National Movement” in recent years – their similarity is manifested not only in their political activities, but also in their attitude towards people. Our team is fighting to defeat this abomination in politics, and we will defeat it. Despite the desires of the “Dream” it will still happen. And we will do it,” Berdia Sichinava said.
