The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the West’s response to a potential nuclear strike on Ukraine would not be nuclear, but it would be very powerful from a military point of view. Borrell said this, speaking on Thursday in Bruges, European Truth reports.
“There is a nuclear threat and Putin says he is not bluffing. Well, he cannot afford to bluff. It must be made clear: the people who support Ukraine, the EU, member states, the US, NATO are also not bluffing. Any nuclear attack against Ukraine will create a response. Not a nuclear response, but a powerful response from the military side,” Borrell said.
According to him, “this is a serious moment in history, and we must show our unity, power and full determination.”
Recall that Emmanuel Macron said that France would not use nuclear weapons against Russia if it launched a nuclear strike on Ukraine.
Earlier media reported that a Russian nuclear strike would most likely provoke a “physical response” from Kyiv’s allies and potentially the North Atlantic Alliance.
