Two Ukrainian planes reported as crashed; Air Force confirms to have lost one

Over the last two days, two Ukrainian planes crashed on the territory of Poltava Oblast, said Dmytro Lunin, the Head of the Oblast Military Administration.

Details: On 11 and 12 October, two planes, both Ukrainian, crashed in Shyshaky hromada (an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories).

There were no casualties or injuries among the civilian population.

Quote from Lunin: “On Tuesday and Wednesday, disasters occurred; our planes crashed in the Shyshaky hromada. I cannot comment on any more information; the military leadership of the Ministry of Defence is commenting on these events. We are expecting [more] information from them.”

Update from Air Force: The Air Force Command confirmed the loss of one SU-24M bomber jet: both pilots ejected, one of them died.

Background: On 12 October, around 21:00, a fighter jet of one of the tactical aviation brigades of Ukraine’s Air Force crashed near Vinnytsia; the pilot ejected successfully. This pilot previously destroyed 5 kamikaze drones and 2 cruise missiles of the invaders in two days.
